I will Light a Candle

As I wake up in the morning
The first thing I do
Is think of you.
You make me giggle with glee.
I just want to jump up and down defying all forms of gravity

I am so excited
And so grateful that you are in my life.
Without you I will be nothing,
Just a sounding gong.
I will light a candle for you.
Each day that I live
For every breath that I take
For every birthday I celebrate
And for each morning I wake up.

Only for You my special one,
Will I salute.
For the joys you bring are many.
Who else is there like you?
My precious friend.
I just can not start searching.
Where can I start?
For you, I will light a candle.

When the sun rises, and when it goes down,
You are there in my mind and in all I do.
Where can I hide from you?
You are always there.
In times of sorrow and in times of joy.
I will light a candle

Now I understand the Psalmist,
When he asked what would happen
To the righteous if the foundations are removed?
O! I can only imagine!!!
I will just collapse.
Coz I will not be able to find my feet
Coz you are the solid rock on which I stand
The mere thought of you not being there is hard to imagine.
I am glad that you are always there
And I am forever grateful
For your presence in my life
But for your amazing grace,
I will salute you.
I will light a candle....

It's only love

I went for some food shopping today. As I got to the till, the lady in front of me was so kind. She was so helpful. She asked me if I needed help and I told her I was okay. She did not listen to what I said at all. Immediately, she just started offloading my trolley. After she paid for her own groceries she waited for me and helped me pack my shopping into bags and on to the trolley. I have been shopping for several months now with the crutches and very few people have offered to help me. Usually the ones who offer do not proceed to help, if I say I am alright.

What I saw in that lady was pure love. It can not be anything else. It's only love that is so giving, so patient, so kind and so considerate of others. My prayer is that the Lord Jesus will bless this woman beyond her expectations.

Many a times we meet people who are in need of our help. Because we are nice, we offer a helping hand but as soon as the person says they are okay we do not press on to say, "NO I will help!" As soon as the other person says, 'no' our job is done. Well, I did offer but you said you are okay, so that's fine with me.

Sometimes people say no because they do not want to inconvenience others. It is not that they do not need help but because of pride it is easier to say 'no' than 'yes'. It's only love that can go all the way without expecting anything in return.

I believe now is the time to check our 'love tanks' to see if we have enough love to share with the others. You do not need any money. All that is required is your time and your willingness to be part of something good. It is time to give to others but it has to come from the heart if one wants it to work.

When you offer to help do not worry whether the person you are helping or have helped will thank you. Sometimes they do not say thank you because no one has ever helped them and they are wondering if there is a catch somewhere. Some are too proud, of which I think is very selfish. Some were never taught to say thank you when they were younger.

Help because you want to help and not because you expect something in return. One does not need to know the people they are helping. God is our only rewarder. People who give expecting something in return always end up disappointed because some of the people they help are not able to help them when they are in need.

It's only love that can help strangers, those in need and those who are hurting. Love is the only greatest thing and it is even better and sweeter if shared with others.

The credit crunch

The first time I heard about this, I just thought it was one of America's inventions. I did not think much about it until sometime late last year when I went food shopping. I was wondering why things were so expensive. I just could not understand how expensive meat and fruits and vegetables where?

On the news they were always talking about the cost of living rising. I now understand what I thought was just American jargon. Fuel prices have just shot up. Basic household commodities are expensive. The other day a friend of mine who was visiting England from Trinidad was complaining about how expensive things are in London.

She said she was going to buy presents for her friends and family in Dubai where things are cheaper. After a few days she asked me what was meant by the term "credit crunch," because everyone was talking about it? I just explained to her that the reason why she was not doing her shopping in England is what the "credit crunch" is. It is crunching all the money people have.

It is even worse when you have children. The demand and pressure is too much. Starting from the school lunches and bus fares. I started comparing when I was growing up and the life my children are living now. I had so many toys but they were not as expensive as the ones my children have. The toy manufacturers were considerate then. I think, they must have had children of their own.

Now every toy needs batteries, they all come with accessories which you need to buy separately if you want your child to enjoy the toy. Look at the many versions of the Barbie doll. How about the wii? What a rip off!!!

No wonder, why, a lot of people are going for dogs instead of having kids. Once you feed it and take it for a walk, you are home and dry. If you need to buy any toys, it will be a ball of which will be of good benefit to you physically.

The credit crunch has actually increased the production of material goods. People are looking for business ventures. Ways to make money. The banks are afraid of lending. Major companies, banks etc are going into liquidation. What hope is there for the little businesses?

Yesterday, I went shopping and the man in front of me at the till paid for his grocery shopping worth £25 with 10p coins only. It took a very long time and the man was very appologetic saying that is all he had. The girl at the till just smiled and told the man not to worry and that he was not the only one.

And I hear on the news that Scotland has not been hit by the credit crunch yet. Is this really true? Where are they doing their shopping? Are the people of the North suffering in silence just because of pride or they have nowhere to turn to?

I wonder

Hey!

I am so excited to be writing to you all. Today I woke up wondering how it would be if I created my own blog. It has been something that I have been thinking about since my friend introduced me to her own. I fell in love with it. I am glad that I grabbed the chance I got so I can pour out my heart and my thoughts to you.

Sometimes in life we are presented with so many opportunities. Some are too good to be true and some you can't help but wonder whether someone put any thought to it. People are very different and they also can be very strange. It is amazing what can come out of their mouths, what they can do with their bodies and with their hands and minds.

People are capable of loving and can also hate like nobody's business. They can show enthusiasm or lack of it whenever they choose. They can build and they can destroy. When I look at different individuals I just can not stop wondering how complicated life is and halso how amazing the creator of heaven and earth is. I wonder.......
I think he is just too much. Look at the works of his hands. Just watch and see what his creation can do. The birds, animals and mankind do their own things. Someone once sang a song called, "God made Man and man made money" O! he is a wonder

Whenever I look at the animals I wonder whether there is acceptable or unacceptable behaviour in their community. Do they have any laws in their communities? I look at the flowers of the fields and wonder why they have such a short life span. They are so beautiful and before you know it they are all either withered or gone.

It makes one think seriously whether good people or things ever live long or last at all. I am just glad that I have so many opportunities at my disposal. Opportunities my granny never had, some of my friends have never had. I wonder how life would be if I wasn't me. I thank God, I do not believe that whatever will be, will be. I believe that I can do anything and that the power to change things is within me. I am the full package with nothing lacking.

Though I look at things strangely and am afraid at times and always wondering, why, they are like so, and not like so, does not mean I am confused or do not know what I want in life. I just love to explore. To me life is all about doing the best you can. Keep going, keep fighting, keep smiling. There is always room for improvement. One should never be discouraged or be afraid of failure. You win some, you lose some. Believe in yourself, prepare, concentrate and work hard.

I wonder!!!
